The ingredients needed to make Flax Seed Rice:

  1. {Prepare 2 Tbsp of Flax seeds.
  2. {Prepare 2-3 of Whole red chillies.
  3. {Get 1 of Whole Kashmiri red chilli.
  4. {Make ready 1/4 cup of grated coconut.
  5. {Make ready 1 tsp of whole Urad dal.
  6. {Make ready 1 tsp of Urad dal.
  7. {Prepare 1 tsp of Chana Dal plus 1 tsp Chana Dal.
  8. {Get 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds.
  9. {Make ready 1 of dry tamarind.
  10. {Get 1 cup of cooked Brown rice.
  11. {Make ready 3-4 Tbsp of coconut oil.
  12. {Prepare as per need of Salt.

Steps to make Flax Seed Rice:

  1. Cook the brown rice, drain and set aside..
  2. In a wok first dry roast flax seed, when it starts popping, set aside. Add whole red chillies, whole Kashmiri red chilli, curry leaves and set aside.
  3. Dry roast Chana Dal and black Urad Dal, set aside.
  4. Dry roast grated coconut and when it looses moisture and is brown, set aside.
  5. Dry roast without on flame tamarind and once it looses moisture set aside.
  6. Add all dry roasted items into a blender and on pulse mode make a coarse powder, set aside.
  7. In a wok heat coconut oil, add mustard seed, add Chana Dal, White Urad Dal and stir for few seconds..
  8. Add curry leaves and the cooked rice, add the coarse powder and mix well.
  9. Add salt and mix well. Add some more coconut oil and cover to cook for 2-3 mins.
  10. Set aside.
  11. Plate and serve and enjoy a healthy Flax seed rice.
