Hey everyone, hope you are having an amazing day today. Today, I’m gonna show you how to prepare a distinctive dish, tomato chutney. It is one of my favorites food recipes. For mine, I am going to make it a bit tasty. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Tomato Chutney is one of the most favored of current trending foods on earth. It’s simple, it’s quick, it tastes yummy. It’s appreciated by millions every day. They are nice and they look fantastic. Tomato Chutney is something that I’ve loved my entire life.

To get started with this recipe, we have to prepare a few ingredients. You can have tomato chutney using 12 ingredients and 12 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Tomato Chutney:

  1. {Take 1 of kilo Hybrid tomatoes- Big, juicy and red tomatoes.
  2. {Get 450-500 grams of garlic (don't cut down on garlic).
  3. {Get 250 grams of curry leaves.
  4. {Make ready 250 grams of ginger (julienne).
  5. {Get 150-200 grams of green chilies (adjust according to your heat tolerance).
  6. {Get 500 grams of Mustard oil (make sure there is enough oil).
  7. {Get 50 grams of Mustard seeds.
  8. {Take 1 of earthen pot or kadhai.
  9. {Make ready 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder.
  10. {Make ready 3 teaspoons of Kashmiri red chili powder.
  11. {Take 2 teaspoons of Coriander powder.
  12. {Take of Salt to taste.

Instructions to make Tomato Chutney:

  1. Wash the tomatoes and roughly chop it.
  2. Mince garlic, a chopper will come handy here (You don't have to peel the garlic, but make sure you have minced it and not made a paste).
  3. Cut ginger in long julienne strips.
  4. Slit chilies in 2 vertical halves.
  5. Finely chop 3/4th amount of curry leaves and set aside the remaining leaves as is..
  6. In a kadhai or deep dish earthen pot add the mustard oil and let it come to the smoking point.
  7. Now add mustard seeds, minced garlic, julienne ginger and fry these for a couple of seconds..
  8. When you can smell the pungent aroma of mustard seeds, garlic and ginger wafting from the kadhai, add your tomatoes, chilies and chopped curry leaves. Now keep stirring so that it does not stick to the bottom. Keep the heat on high.
  9. Let the ingredients come together while it is bubbling on high heat for a few minutes, say 2-3. Now add all the powdered spices; turmeric, coriander, chili and salt to taste. Keep stirring while on high heat for another 4-5 minutes. Make sure you haven't turned down the heat, we want the spices to get cooked as soon as we add them, moreover we want them to burn a bit. It will help you give a charred taste..
  10. Now turned the heat to the lowest and cover it with a lid and let it simmer for at least 15 minutes. Make sure the heat now is turned down completely so that the tomato chutney simply simmers on low heat and does not get stuck at the bottom..
  11. After 15 minutes, take off the lid and stir it so that any stuck bits are incorporated in the top layer of the chutney. Now again cover the lid for another 10 minutes and keep repeating this cycle for another 3-4 times till your the tomatoes in the chutney are reduced and a robust layer of oil is floating on the top. Just like the picture below..
  12. Add the remaining curry leaves and stir it a bit and if you wish let it cook for a few more minutes but not more than 5 and then turn off your stove. Let it cool down completely and transfer the chutney in a air tight jar (make sure there are no traces of water or moisture) and keep scooping out whenever you need something to give your taste buds a nice kick! Enjoy!!!.
